The short-term and long-term goals of HYPOS
Tomorrow's energy system will be based on renewable energies. By converting it into hydrogen, green energy can be transported, stored and converted into heat, power and electricity as required.
Hydrogen is eco-friendly and long-lasting
Green Hydrogen is not only a cost-effective solution for future energy systems, it is also clean, environmentally friendly and sustainable - in contrast to the original production from fossil natural gas. In addition, hydrogen is an important raw material in the chemical industry and proves to be a viable alternative to environmentally harmful fuels.
From the test environment to the country's supply structure
HYPOS pursues the goal of gradually replacing the fossil-fueled hydrogen requirements and making electricity-based hydrogen technology economically viable. To this end, the project consortium has set short-term, medium-term and long-term goals. First of all, the focus is on the creation of affordable structures and the technical implementation in test environments. In the medium term, the conversion and storage of renewable energy into hydrogen is to be optimized on the basis of the results and be used extensively, so that in the long term hydrogen technology will be integrated into the supply infrastructure of Germany and beyond.
